DALMAC 2005 East - Photo Gallery

Sorry I took so long with these. I've been enjoying being a little bit lazier for the last 2 weeks, but I finally decided to sit down and fight with FrontPage for a few hours just to produce this simple page. This is not every single picture that I took, but I tried to pick out some of the ones that didn't suck, plus, I didn't want to have too many near duplicates. Anyway, I have some of these at 2048x1536, so if you see yourself and want a copy, let me know. Email me at

Leaving late from MSU (about 9:15am) Some day, I hope she'll ride with me...

First (real) rest-stop at "Dave's", about 10 miles from Maple Rapids.

2 of my 3 riding buddies on Day 1 (Mike and Bonnie)

Lunch at the VFW in Perrinton

We were welcome

Lazy bums (just kidding!)

The temporarily displaced cyclists of the DALMAC.

A place to call home

Ahhh... Home

The entertainment!

Shepherd was in a state of repair.

Someone told me that the bar did a lot of business that day...

Where I got all my power!

(I felt a little more connected to the local community after this brief walk)

Dave fixing a recumbant tandem. Yep, they really do make those.

Inside my spacious tent! (end of Day 1)

Day 2. Tent-city is almost gone.

Isn't it fun to stop at these little places and overwhelm the poor people that have to work there?

Dave! We rode together quite a bit on the second day. Despite the wind, we made pretty good time together.

Ahhh! What's with all the bikes!

I found it first!

The tent city!

Me (dressed like a normal person), and a look inside my spacious home!

Somewhere in Day 3!

I hope you didn't miss this place

Did you see the pig? The emu? No?

Beware of humans!

I really liked this place, what can I say.

Ok, last one from Wellington Farm Park.

The road less travelled.

But seriously people. Why didn't more of you take the bicycle path? You missed out!

So, I had this thought that if I set up under a tree, the dew wouldn't be so bad.

It worked! The dew was only on 2 sides: inside and outside.

Dinner? Mmmm... It was GOOOOOD.

I feel bad, because I forgot their names. But "he" was 73, and his wife is the one in the matching shirt.

I didn't win... Shucks... (Those glasses would have been nice!)

Day 4. It was kind of cold that morning.

Met back up with friends from Day 1.

New friends! I rode in a paceline with these guys for about 40 miles. We made really good time. (Thanks guys!)

The line for the 3:00 bridge crossing. I got there at about 1:30. I had a long wait.

The start of the line.

Brian, Mike, Bonnie and me. I'm kicking myself for not spending the extra for the jersey... Live and learn.

I'd hug him too! He hauled a nice private SAG (camper)! (Thanks for the, carbonated beverage, Mike)

I'm done! And I'm still as chubby as when I started. Hi Mom!

[video 13mb] Day 3: The path where bicycles are supposed to go (Near Hartwick Pines). Many of you didn't take the road less travelled by. What's up with that? Here's some of what you missed.

[video 7mb] Somewhere on the north of Gaylord. It was a beautiful, though chilly and foggy, morning.
